I sold out

It’s a long story… I sold my Powerbook about a few days after CNY, along with the FinalCut software. And I was looking for a PC laptop for Jodie to work on for her photoshop project. I went through a couple of brands and decided on a IBM Thinkpad T61 series. So I looked around Sim Lim and Funan for about a few days. I wanted to see if there were any other cheaper/better options for a 2.2ghz dual core laptop + discreet graphics chip.

But I made the mistake of walking into Macshop at Funan, I asked the lady if there were any freebies for their macbooks/pros, expecting her to say “free keyboard protector, $50 off MS office, free mousepad, free fries at Macs, etc” but she said,

“4GB RAM”

That was the hook, line and sinker. The free RAM (for Photoshop) was more important than having a graphics chip (for COD4) AND it was cheaper than the Thinkpad. I paid cash the next day for the macbook 2.2ghz white. Got VMware with WinXP on trial with OS 10.5.2 and it’s purring with CS2 Win. Jo’s very happy, says it doesn’t crash as much as WinXP at home with her 100mb+ file.

I am sorry WinXP, sob.

No blogging till March

We’ve been back since 4th feb and we’ve been snowed under with stuff. Also, the macbook doesn’t have a modem port (also, i am too cheap to buy one) so we can’t check mail/facebook/blog/surf at home. We’ll be writing when we are back in Paris. =)

An ex-SIA stewardess friend told us that there was goo mee pok in paris, she knew the location with reference from the meridien hotel but dono the exact address. Can anybody help us? =)
